How to Reduce your Property taxes in California under proposition 8.
If you or someone you know owns a property with an assessment value much higher than what the property is worth, it is possible to reduce the property taxes. If you are not sure if the comparables are less than the assess value, just email me your address or Assessors Parcel Number, so I can email you back the median sales prices of the lower 5 comperable sales that fall within the criteria. Each County has their own forms and deadlines. The content on the forms are similar. Below you will find some of Southern California's County forms.

Los Angeles County Residents use the forms below:
1.- FormRP-87: You have until December 31, 2008 to submit your "Decline-inValue Reassessment Application to the County Assessors Office. This form is a way of giving the Tax Assessor a second chance to get your assessment value lower.
2.- Form AAB1: You have until November 30, 2008 to submit your application to the appeals Board. This form is to request to a hearing appointment with the Appeals Board, so that you may present comparable sales in person. If you are satisfied with the new assessment value givent to your property ( based on the 1st request), then you can cancel your appointment bay calling 1-888-807-2111.
